APRIL 27 - ADMINISTRATION BUILDING SIGN DEDICATION - 125th Celebration

Time: 11 am
Location: In front of the north entrance to the building
Admission:  Free

The dedication, which is open to the public, will start at 11 a.m. in front of the north entrance to the building. LCSC President J. Anthony (Tony) Fernandez will give a welcome before the unveiling of the sign. Local historian Steven Branting will follow with a short talk about the building.

The sign features pictures and a brief history of the Administration Building at LCSC. The sign is entitled “a gift from fire” and discusses how the building came about following a fire on Dec. 5, 1917, that destroyed most of the original Administration Building. Construction on the current Administration Building started on July 7, 1919 and it was dedicated on Nov. 18, 1921.

APRIL 27 - PRESIDENT'S ROW TREE PLANTING CEREMONY

Time: 3pm
Location: 7th Ave. & 5th St., North of Sacajawea Hall
Admission: Free
Held on Arbor Day, the first day of the 34th Annual Art Under the Elms, and the first day of Family Weekend - trees honoring current, and soon to retire, President J. Anthony (Tony) Fernandez and past president Dene Thomas will be planted at this ceremony.

As part of Lewis-Clark State College’s 125th anniversary celebration, the college will plant an entire row of new trees along Seventh Avenue that will honor past, current, and future presidents of the college.

Each year, ASLCSC identifies and funds a legacy project to beautify the campus. This year, with help from the college’s Foundation and Physical Plant offices, the project will be the planting of 15 trees, called Presidents' Row that will be located along the northern edge of campus. Presidents' Row will replace the diseased elm trees that were removed during LCSC’s spring break.
